”Ka Synjuk Ki Hima Arliang Wah Umiam-Mawphlang Welfare Society” commemorated its 15th Foundation Day on the 15th June 2026, marking fifteen years of its establishment to preserve forests and wildlife habitat, community development, and the preservation of the rich cultural and natural heritage through community action.
The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Smti. R. M. Kurbah, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Meghalaya, Home (Police) and Tourism Department, Meghalaya Secretariat, Shillong, Meghalaya, as the Chief Guest. Her presence added great significance to the occasion, inspiring members and guests as the Society reflected on its achievements and renewed its commitment to empowering local communities, promoting sustainable tourism, and fostering inclusive development for future generations.
